It works by creating a sequence of symlinks from a playlist (m3u) and then feeding that to Brasero.

then the txt is changed to .m3u so on the usb drive you would just need an m3u that has the file names of the songs in the order you want them.
If your directory has a .m3u file, you should remove it before you drag it into iTunes.
